Guest Appearance on the Zero Shot Podcast AI & Business. Anti-Hype.

Brett Wiskar joins the Zero Shot Podcast as the first guest to discuss AI adoption, organisational culture, and why many enterprises are failing to close the talent gap despite the hype.

I’ve been working in the digital space leading innovation for more than 25 years. Over this time I’ve helped businesses navigate many different waves of technology and adapt their business, skills, and operating models to the new normal. Along the way I’ve met and worked with wonderful people and built great relationships with many thought leaders and outstanding operators. Two such people are James Gauci (Chief AI Officer and Founder at Cadent.ai) and Llew Jury (Managing Director at Advancer).

Kicking off at the end of 2025, James and Llew got together to collaborate on a Podcast focusing on AI and cutting through the hype and so the Zero Shot Podcast was born.

I’ve been an avid listener since day one and was delighted to be invited on to the pod to be their first guest on episode 12. I think our discussion makes for a great listen but I’m not really impartial on this one – you be the judge.

Below you can watch or listen to the discussion but I encourage you to subscribe and follow Zero Shot and add it to your weekly listening list. You stand to learn a lot from Llew, James, and their guests.

EP 12: The Culture Gap — AI, Talent & Why Most Companies Fail | ft. Brett Wiskar

Brett Wiskar, national innovation leader at Australian Catholic University, cuts through the AI adoption hype to reveal what large enterprises are getting wrong, why universities are failing to produce AI-ready talent, and how to hire for adaptability in 2026 — not the job description that’s already obsolete.
